BEER GOGGLES OFF: LET'S TALK ALCOHOL AND MENTAL HEALTH

The World Health a Organization has found  something interesting ➔ There are about 322 million people worldwide fighting depression and 264 million with anxiety disoders.

Now, here's where it gets tricky: many of these folks also have something called alcohol use disorders. Alcohol plays with your brain's transmitters like a cat with a laser pointer. It's all fun and games when you’re doing it in moderation, but once you overindulge, it's like the cat finally nabs the laser pointer only to find it's a one-way ticket to a dark place.

A 2017 journal paper that looked at 26 studies found that alcohol use disorders are tied to a three-fold increase in suicide risk. Research shows (yes, we do that too) that socializing is good for your mental health and a great way to stay positive. But often socializing involves alcohol, and this leaves folks between a rock and a hard place.
